COFFEE LIFE CITY

Since this is my first entry in this blog page, I thought I should use the page title: Coffee Life City. It’s only been a few minutes since I signed up on this free blog site and I'm already trying to write my first entry, haha. It’s probably gonna be full of informal posts. (I'm not sure of that “posts” because I’m still hesitant about this, but I’m sure of that “informal”) Anyway, going back, yes, it’s only been a few minutes since I signed up. It’s currently 12:26AM, Ontario time. I was about to sleep (after eating pizza at 12AM) but I suddenly remembered this site and decided to create my account. It sounds spontaneous, but not really.

I’ve always wanted to share stories but I’m not good on words and writing. I remember the time I did my general knowledge exam five years ago. Part of it was to write a short reflection for an article. As they give the result, they would call the examinees one-by-one to give their brief advice based on the evaluation result. The proctor told me that I have a lot of good ideas, but they’re all over the place. I’ve always known that I am a very disorganized person, not only with my schedule and things but also in writing. In addition to that, periods, commas and all other punctuation marks are not very friendly. At least to me. Okay, in connection to that “punctuation marks”, I am an undergrad English Major back in the Philippines. I wasn’t able to finish my university studies since we moved to Canada. With that history in the view, I was always thinking that people would be expecting perfection in all my writings.

I feel like I’ve already said a lot but I haven’t really gotten to what my blog title is all about. Well, not a unique fact about a person: I love coffee. I’m a coffee drinker and I love to hunt coffee shops. In my college days, I was always carrying a coffee in class. During my free days, you will find me inside a coffee shop, or in the library, still with coffee. Throughout my first years in Canada, the time I had no friends and was trying to settle myself, mentally, in an alien country, and a lot of other adjustments, coffee shops were my escape. Reading, thinking and writing my journal entry while drinking coffee, I will write more about that next time because we're getting too much coffee here.

I didn’t know it’s gonna be this long, and I didn’t want it to be. The proctor was right. A quick note on “life and city”, another not very unique fact about a person: I love city walks and city lights. I lived in Toronto for five years. A lot of those times, I was walking around downtown and (sleeping) inside the trains (I miss TTC btw. Kipling station looking so fab after the reno!) Coffee and city were just a really big part of my almost-everyday life so when I thought of making a blog account I just took the title from the top of my head.

It’s 1:14AM. I’m hoping to write shorter contents next time, and also not around this time. I hope you enjoy this. I did. Lol

Warmly,

V
